How do I calculate the correct size of BodenWärme heating kit?

First measure the total floor area by multiplying the width by the length. Then subtract fixed furniture with a clearance of less than 50mm above the floor to prevent hot spots. With the total area minus deductions, deduct an additional 10% as this will allow for the spacing between mats and around the perimeter of the room.

Installation

BodenWärme's heat mats are particularly suited to standard-shaped rooms and large areas. To install, simply roll out your mat and cut the rapid-fit sticky mesh backing and turn back in the opposite direction as needed. For added simplicity, the dual-core wire has a single connection point.

Mats cannot be cut or trimmed; once altered, they are non-returnable.
The maximum total size of 200w/m² BodenWärme underfloor heating mats that a single thermostat can control is 16m². Larger areas require separate zones with multiple thermostats.
All mains electrical connections must be done by a certified electrician per Part P regulations. The system must be protected by a 30mA RCD, located in the consumer unit or a dedicated fused spur.
Ensure the total current does not exceed the circuit's capacity. A standard 13A domestic ring circuit can power the system via a single 13A fused spur.
